Community Guidelines

The Annece Community is a place where mothers and mothers-to-be ask each other questions, share their experiences and support one another. These guidelines exist to keep it safe, warm and useful for everyone. By using the community you agree to these guidelines and to the Annece Terms of Use.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

In short

  • Be kind. Discuss ideas, not people.
  • Share your experience, not medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU) right away.
  • Protect your own and other people’s personal information.
  • No spam: don’t post the same thing over and over or share misleading links.
  • Children’s safety comes before everything else.
  • If you see something that breaks the rules, report it — our team reviews reports within 24 hours.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

01Who can join

  • Anyone aged 18 or over can join the community.
  • Your username is the only identity shown in the community. Your real name, your baby’s name, your photo and your baby’s date of birth are never shown. Your baby’s age appears only as an approximate range (e.g. “mother of a 5-month-old”).
  • Everyone takes part with one account. Opening a new account to replace a closed one is not allowed.

02Be respectful and kind

  • No insults, belittling, mocking, condescension or name-calling.
  • No harassment or bullying: repeatedly targeting someone, following them around, intimidating or threatening them.
  • Do not judge or shame anyone for their parenting choices — breastfeeding or formula, sleep, how they gave birth, work life and similar choices belong to each family.
  • You may disagree; criticise ideas, not people.

03Hate speech and discrimination

Demeaning, excluding or calling for violence against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, language, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, health status or migration status is prohibited. This includes hate symbols and coded hateful language.

04Health information and medical advice

Emergency: if your baby’s or your own health is at risk, don’t wait to post — call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU) right away.

What is shared in the community is parents’ own experience. It is not medical advice and does not replace the opinion of a doctor, midwife or nurse.

  • Recommending medicines, doses, supplements or herbal mixtures, or buying and selling prescription medicines, is not allowed.
  • Recommending practices that may endanger a baby’s health is not allowed. For example: giving honey to a baby under one year, giving a baby adult medication or sleeping pills, shaking a baby, unsafe sleep positions.
  • Health claims that contradict scientific evidence and may cause harm (such as debunked vaccine claims) may be removed.
  • If you constantly feel low, hopeless or exhausted, you are not alone. It is very common after birth — please talk to a health professional.

05Children’s safety

  • Any content that sexualises children is strictly prohibited; the account is closed without warning and reported to the authorities.
  • Do not share information that could identify a child: full name, school or nursery, address, location.
  • If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, contact your local emergency services or child protection authorities.

06Self-harm

Content that encourages self-harm or suicide or describes methods is prohibited. If you are having such thoughts, please ask for help right away by calling your local emergency number. When we see such posts we may remove them and point the person to support resources.

07Personal information and privacy

  • Do not share phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, bank or card details, national ID numbers or locations — neither yours nor anyone else’s.
  • Exposing other people’s personal information or sharing their private conversations without permission is prohibited.
  • Our automatic filters hold posts containing phone numbers, bank details, e-mail addresses or links for review before they are published.

08Sexual and explicit content

Pornographic, explicit or sexually solicitous posts are prohibited. Topics such as breastfeeding, birth, sexual health and the postpartum body can be discussed respectfully in a health context.

09Violence and threats

Threatening violence, glorifying violence or inciting violence is prohibited.

10Spam and fraud

  • Sharing misleading, harmful or fraudulent links is not allowed.
  • Posting the same content again and again or flooding the feed with meaningless content is not allowed.
  • Trying to collect information with promises of money, gifts or “free products” is fraud; the account is closed permanently.

11Impersonation and misleading identity

  • Impersonating another person, Annece, an institution or a brand is prohibited.
  • Using health titles such as doctor, nurse, midwife or dietitian in a username, or acting as a health professional in the community, is prohibited. This is why some usernames are unavailable.
  • Official Annece accounts appear with the word “official” next to their username.

12Illegal content

Content that promotes illegal activity or trade in illegal goods and services (e.g. prescription medicines, forged documents) is prohibited. Unlawful content is removed under applicable law, and requests from competent authorities are handled within the legal framework.

13Copyright and intellectual property

Do not copy other people’s writing without permission and present it as your own. If you quote, name the source.

14Off-topic and political content

The community is about motherhood, parenting, baby care and self-care. Political propaganda, debates about parties or candidates, and content meant to start fights may be removed. Post in the most suitable topic.

15Polls

Polls can be created by Premium members and follow these same guidelines. Polls that target or demean a person, or try to collect personal information, are prohibited. Votes are anonymous: who voted for what is never shown to anyone — not even to the person who created the poll.

16Usernames

Your username is something you share too: it may not contain profanity, insults, personal information, brands, institutions or titles. Inappropriate usernames are replaced with a neutral one.

17Reporting and blocking

  • Choose Report from the menu of any post, comment or poll. Reports are anonymous; the person you report does not learn who you are.
  • Our team reviews reports within 24 hours. If several people report the same content, it is taken down until the review is complete.
  • If you block someone, you no longer see their posts. Manage the people you blocked in Settings → Community.
  • You can also report from outside the app: help@venustudios.com

18How moderation works

  • Automatic filters hold suspicious content — profanity, phone numbers, links and the like — for review before it is published. While it is under review, only you can see it.
  • Decisions are made by people on our team: content can stay up, be hidden or be deleted.
  • Every moderation decision is recorded.

19Consequences of breaking the guidelines

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

Depending on how serious the violation is, one or more of the following apply:

  • Removal of the content
  • Resetting of the username
  • Temporary restriction from writing in the community (e.g. 7 days)
  • Permanent closure of the account

For severe violations such as child abuse, serious threats and fraud, the account is closed without warning and, where necessary, reported to the authorities.

20Appeals

If you think we made a wrong decision, write to help@venustudios.com. We will review your appeal and get back to you.

21Changes

We may update these guidelines from time to time. We announce important changes in the app; the current version is always on this page.
